EQUIPMENT & ACCESSORIES

Required Photo Equipment

  • DSLR body or bodies with interchangeable lenses
  • Zoom range capability with one or more lenses covering 24-200mm
  • Batteries, charger & at least 2 batteries
  • At least 2 digital memory cards 8 GB or higher each

Recommended Photo Equipment

  • UV or similar protective filter for your lenses
  • Tripod or monopod
  • Digital card reader
  • Laptop computer
  • Lens cleaning cloth

Optional Photo Equipment

  • Flash/Speed Light

Clothing

  • Hat… very important as sun is rather intense at this altitude.
  • Pants… jeans or similar tough pants to avoid cactus & yuccas.
  • Jacket/Poncho… for wind & rain… mornings & evenings can be in the 50s
  • Boots… high top over-the-ankle hiking boots are best, or cowboy boots if accustomed to them. Moderate walking and lots of standing so comfort is key.

OTHER

  • Daypack or similar to hold extra clothing, camera stuff and water
  • Workshop will furnish bottled water • Very important to hydrate
  • Power bars or snacks
  • Sunscreen (30+ rating)
  • Insect repellent (optional)
  • Towels or other soft cloths for wiping cameras and gear
